Being born into a defence family gifted me a unique upbringing and meant moving around a bit—one foot in the city bustle for school, the other in the serene outback on my grandparents' farm for holidays. The blend of city vibrancy and country tranquillity instilled in me an appreciation for diverse lifestyles and an eclectic taste of life, a mix of urban flair and rustic simplicity.
With every move, I learned to treasure moments over possessions. Boxes disappeared in transit, but the laughter, shared experiences, and lessons learned stayed with us. After school, I wandered around Australia, tutoring on remote cattle properties and working as a nanny. Eventually, I found footing in retail management, a path that led me from an Australian Fashion label in Brisbane to my parents' hardware store in Quilpie (far west Queensland) to a stint in London's fashion scene.
The floods of 2011 brought me home, sparking a period of reflection. It was time to find my true calling. Financial services beckoned, and I found my groove in financial planning. Helping people navigate from uncertainty to clarity became my passion. Many people I encountered were wandering, lacking a clear roadmap toward their financial goals. Watching their shoulders relax as they embraced a well-defined plan was immensely fulfilling.
My path in financial planning has illuminated the human side of finance. I celebrate victories—clients savouring retirement, families weathering unexpected storms, and the honour of managing claims for cherished individuals, including my dad. It became crystal clear: it's not just about making money but safeguarding lifestyles against unforeseen circumstances.
